Maths

Our aim is that children in our Federation will become confident Mathematicians who have acquired conceptual understanding and procedural fluency by recalling known facts and using efficient methods. They will solve problems and reason mathematically; applying their knowledge and making connections. 

Teachers use a range of planning resources to ensure that the children have access to a variety of representations and are able to practice and apply their knowledge. This ensures children acquire deep understanding, leading to mastery and are able to use what they know to make generalisations and explain their thinking to others.
